ELECTRIBE·MX: Cutting-edge MMT synthesis engine

Powered by one of the most advanced synthesizer engines in the world, the ELECTRIBE·MX provides everything needed to create sophisticated dance music – nine drum parts, five synth parts, plus accent parts that let you add dynamic accents to the drum and synth parts (for a total of 16 parts).

The all-new MMT (Multi Modeling Technology) offers sixteen different oscillator algorithms, providing powerful analog synthesis models as well as sophisticated additive, PCM, chord, unison, combination, wave shaping, formant models and more. The built-in PCM library includes 207 drum PCM sounds and 76 synth PCM sounds ready for immediate use, ranging from powerful kicks and snares through amazingly unique organic sounds. External audio signals can be manipulated using the Comb Filter oscillator algorithm, and then further processed by the internal filter and effects.

A new “Drive” parameter added to the filter produces the distinctive overdrive of analog circuitry, creating powerful and biting analog synth sounds. Each part features extensive LFO and EG modulation, allowing you to create wonderfully bizarre sounds.

The ELECTRIBE•MX is packed with cutting edge features.

Twin vacuum tubes for analog warmth
Valve Force circuitry contains two vacuum tubes that add new power to your sound. The analog tube circuit adds a warmth and presence to your sound that cannot be duplicated digitally. The tube gain knob adjusts the level of the output signal passing through the vacuum tubes, creating dynamic sounds with the distinctive tonal quality that only tubes deliver.

Three stereo effect processors to radically change your sound
The highly acclaimed Electribe effects have been enhanced to provide three multi-effect units available for simultaneous use. Each part can be independently routed to any of the three effects processors, and you can even use the Chain function to link multiple effects in series, opening up further sonic possibilities. Each processor offers 16 effect types ranging from traditional reverb, delay, flanger and chorus, as well as more modern offerings including tempo-based delay, talking modulator, grain shifter, decimator and more. The edits you make to each of the effects processors are saved with each pattern.

Powerful arpeggiator with ribbon controller and slider
A new ribbon controller and slider have been added, providing a remarkable realtime interface for accessing the powerful arpeggiator. Together, they allow you to enter pattern data or perform over a pattern quickly and with amazingly musical results. When playing a synth part, select a scale type or hold down a few notes – the ribbon controller will affect note duration, and the slider can be played in realtime to generate new phrases. For a drum part, touching the ribbon will trigger notes, and sliding your finger up and down will change the note resolution.

Motion Sequencing brings your songs to life
Motion Sequencing records your realtime knob tweaks and plays them back as part of the pattern. Two types of motion sequence are provided; one for effects and one for parts, and you can also edit the value of individual steps. Up to 24 motion sequences can be used in a single pattern, allowing you to control virtually every sound parameter. The Step Edit function allows you to adjust the value of individual steps.

Easy to use realtime and step style sequencing
The 14 part keys and 16 step keys on the front panel of the ELECTRIBE·MX allow for easy, intuitive song production. Realtime recording lets you record phrases as you perform, and step recording allows you to input the timing, pitch and duration one note at a time.

ESX1 - Electribe Music Production Sampler w/ Sequencer

Serious Genre-Warping Production Tools for your Dance Creations

The Electribe series of Dance Tools defined a new standard, combining unique sound generation, pattern based programming, and intuitive knob-based interfaces. Thousands of forward-thinking musicians, DJs and producers continue to use them to create exciting and groundbreaking music.

The ELECTRIBE·SX represents a new generation of Electribes – powerful dance music products that cover everything from laying down stunning tracks to creating exhilarating live performances. Both come housed in a sleek, rugged metal chassis. The new backlit LCD provides a wealth of information during programming or performance.

The intuitive step-time/realtime interface has been enhanced with a new Ribbon and Slider control. Effects, Motion Sequencing, and Pattern length have all been expanded. A brand-new filter lets you chose Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass or Band Pass Plus.

Up to 256 patterns can be created and stored to the internal memory. You can combine patterns, add mute data and knob movements to create up to 64 songs. To get you started, a wide assortment of patterns covering house, hip-hop, R&B, electronica, drum’n’bass, techno, trance and more come preloaded – 128 in the ELECTRIBE·SX. Using the last step function, you can easily adjust to any odd meter. Favorite patterns can be assigned to Pattern Sets for instant access. Data can be quickly saved and loaded via SmartMedia.

Audio inputs allow you to process external signals through the on-board filter and effects, and an extra pair of assignable outputs has been added as well. The front panel knobs and switches control all the most important sound parameters, allowing you to modify the sound in realtime as you perform, and giving you a hands-on feel like that of an analog synthesizer.

Sophisticated Sampling and
Instant Dance Music Creation
The ELECTRIBE·SX lets you use a variety of approaches to creating songs, elevating it beyond just a sampler and rhythm module into a comprehensive tool for music production.

Using sample based sound creation, the ELECTRIBE·SX can generate a total of 16 parts that can be used for building patterns. Nine parts are set up to play as “one-shot” samples, or Drum Parts. Two additional Keyboard Parts allow samples to be played melodically at various pitches right from the step keys or a MIDI input. Sampled loops can be assigned to the Stretch Parts. As Stretch Parts, their tempos can be adjusted without affecting their pitch. This allows two sample Loops recorded at different tempos to be played back at the same in sync. Phrase samples can also be “Sliced,” or divided up at the rhythmic peaks of the sample. Once sliced, individual samples can be muted to generate new grooves. Pitch, filter and effect settings can be applied to the individual sliced samples (or Motion Sequenced) to transform the original phrase into something unique. Two Accent parts introduce added dynamics. Reverse and Roll commands can be used to quickly generate complex sounding patterns. Additional Sample edit commands include Normalize, Truncate and Start Point.

A generous 285 seconds of memory (at 44.1kHz) can be used to create up to 384 of your own samples. The ELECTRIBE·SX includes a wide variety of preloaded samples – 196 in all – so that you can start producing dance music immediately. Samples (.WAV/AIFF format) can be imported and exported via SmartMedia.

The ES-1mkII lets your creative imagination flow directly into the rhythms that form the core of dance music.

Sophisticated sample editing allows you to create intense rhythm patterns
The Electribe-S mkII lets you create rhythm patterns by assembling phrases using your favorite samples. The sound of each sample can be radically altered using the knobs to control the pitch and filter, reversing the sample, or adding effects. You're not limited to simply playing back a sampled sound – you can process it as freely as you would on an analog synth. There's also a Time Slice function that detects the attacks within a sample and slices it, letting you handle each sliced sample separately. For example you can change the pitch and filter settings for just the kick drum, mute individual hits or modify the tempo without changing the pitch of the loop. Of course you can use the knobs to create tonal changes in sliced phrases as well.

Ready to go
The updated preload data includes 64 patterns and 86 samples. Even without loading any additional samples, you've got plenty of superb material for immediate use in your cutting-edge hip-hop, R&B, house, and drum'n'bass dance music.

Versatile effect section featuring an all-new new Mod. Delay
The ES-1mkII provides two effect processors: a master delay, plus one of eleven effect types that can be switched the effect on/off for each part. The eleven effect types range from staples such as Reverb and Flanger/Chorus to unique effects like Decimator, Isolator, and Resonance Filter. There's also a new Mod. Delay that can produce exciting time-based variations in the delay. You can use the knobs to directly edit these effect parameters, and of course your knob movements can be captured as a motion sequence in the pattern.

Resampling provides unlimited flexibility!
You can play your sampled sounds and parts through the effects, modify the pitch and other parameters in realtime, and then resample the result to create totally new sounds. Resampling takes place totally in the digital domain, so there is never any loss of audio quality.

Create rhythm patterns quickly
The Electribe-S mkII lets you use as many as ten individual sampled parts as building blocks for creating patterns. The sequencer interface is highly visual and extremely easy to use. A measure (or two beats) is divided into sixteen steps, and you can create a pattern simply by touching the keys on the steps where you want a sample to sound. You can play a roll or reverse a sample simply by pressing a single button, creating complex rhythm patterns easily and immediately.

Motions Sequence records your realtime knob movements
The Motion Sequence function on the Electribe-S mkII records your knob movements to create realtime tonal changes to enhance your patterns. For each part, you can select one of four parameters – pitch, filter, level, or pan (plus effect on/off) – and use Motion Sequence to record any changes you make to that parameter. Changes in master delay depth and time, as well as the movement of the two effect edit knobs can also be recorded and played back to create exciting dynamic changes. In particular, you can control Roll and Reverse using just a single button and record the On/Off movements for these parameters, quickly adding complexity to your totally original rhythm patterns.

Convenient and reliable SmartMedia data storage
The Electribe-S mkII uses SmartMedia to store your samples, original patterns, and songs. You can also load AIFF or WAV files via SmartMedia, utilizing data from your computer. The Electribe-S mkII can use any 3V SmartMedia card, from 4 MB to 64 MB.

KORG KAOSS PAD entrancer Audio/Video Processor

Manipulate visual images in realtime with intuitive fingertip control. The KAOSS PAD entrancer is a must-have piece of gear for any artist who produces performances that bring together images and sound.

The KAOSS PAD redefined the concept of what an effect processor can do and caused a creative storm in the international music scene by letting you control any type of effect in realtime with the touch of a finger. And now, the new KAOSS PAD entrancer gives you similar control over video effects and transitions. Images are now an indispensable part of dance music, and the entrancer lets you control them in realtime just as if you were “performing” them. This revolutionary audio/video effect processor opens up a new world of image and sound by allowing you to easily manipulate video at any type of performance – even those that were impractical with existing VJ equipment.

Use the touch pad to control video and sound effects
The KAOSS PAD entrancer is a completely new type of video effect processor with a touch panel for fingertip control over images and sounds. By moving your finger vertically and horizontally over the X/Y pad or by tapping it, you can control different parameters simultaneously, just as if you were “performing video.” A wide range of effects can now be performed quickly and intuitively, opening new possibilities for video and musical expression.

In addition to its potential as a new VJ device, the KAOSS PAD entrancer’s sophisticated flexibility lets it work with other types of video systems. It can also be used to add an element of realtime control to the video equipment system you are already using, or you can use it to add effects to a DVD or other image source for your own enjoyment. It also includes all the audio effects that have become so popular on the KAOSS PAD KP2.

Radically transform your images
You can choose from 100 different video effect programs and combinations that modify the image in dramatic ways. From basic effects such as nega-posi, fade, mono color, wipe, color change, freeze, flip left/right, flip up/down, rotate, and expand/shrink, all the way to more sophisticated effects such as noise, stretch, split-screen, invert image components, sand storm, monochrome, delay, strobe, mirroring, and emboss – and even unusual effects like spinning while shrinking! – you can freely control an amazing range of visual effects. Effect programs can be selected easily by turning a knob, and eight of the audio, video, and combination effects can be directly accessed in the program memory buttons. There’s also a Hold switch that lets you hold the state of the effect produced by the current position of your finger on the touch pad. This lets you easily control everything from simple effects to radical changes produced by the simultaneous application of multiple effects – a great asset to any VJ performance. There are 100 combinations that combine these effect programs with audio effect programs, controlling them simultaneously to create performance expressions that have never been experienced before.

Audio effect programs ideal for
DJ mixes and sound creation
The entrancer is packed with all kinds of audio effects; filters, distortion, spatial-type effects such as delay and reverb, and effects like flanger, phaser, and pan that add movement to the sound. Many analog synthesizer and ambience sounds are also included, making the KAOSS PAD entrancer a great tool not just for the VJ, but also for DJ work, remixes or music production.

BPM effect function with flexible BPM detection
Twenty types of BPM effect can be synchronized to the tempo of your music to control delay time or the pan, phaser, or flanger LFO. Of these, eight can synchronize a rhythm pattern or synth bass to the BPM, and play it from the touch pad. You can set the BPM manually, use Auto BPM to detect it from an input source, use the Tap Tempo function to set the BPM by pressing the Tap key, or control BPM from incoming MIDI Clock messages.

Visual and audio sampling and effects
Using Sample/Play effects, you can direct-sample an image and a phrase and use the touch pad to apply effects such as time-stretch, reverse, scratch and play it back. There is a six-second maximum for visual sampling and for each of the two sample keys, you can record one still image and a six-second audio phrase. You can also direct-sample the image and visual phrase being output (for each of the two sample keys, you can record one still image and a six-second audio phrase), and play it back. Of course you are also free to apply effects to the sampled still image.

Take advantage of realtime control
The Pad Motion function lets you record the movement of your finger on the X/Y Pad, allowing you to easily reproduce complex movements to instantly create highly-original image or sound effects. Mute/Freeze lets you freeze the output video, and play the still images registered in the [SAMPLE 1] and [SAMPLE 2] keys, magnify or invert them, or cut the input sound to leave only the reverb or delay effect sound. You can also use this to rapidly switch Mute on/off in time with the rhythm for a “tranceformer” technique used by DJs. The possibilities for unique, realtime control tricks and treatments are endless.

Display the audio waveform image
You can show audio waveform images that appear like an oscilloscope and other high-tech instruments. With the KAOSS PAD entrancer you can truly visualize your sound. You can also have the sound affect other cool visuals for a unique graphic result.

Easy connection
The KAOSS PAD entrancer provides a wide range of inputs and outputs for easy connection. Video and S-video input jacks let you directly connect video, DVD, or camcorder devices. In club situations where you need to switch images in succession, you can use VJ software running on your PC together with web cams to add immediacy that would be difficult when using a PC alone and raise the energy level on the dance floor! MIDI connectors let you use the entrancer to control the sounds or effects of an external keyboard, sampler or effect processor, and even sequence and replay your movements from a MIDI sequencer.. And using the entrancer in conjunction with external equipment will open an infinite range of possibilities for controlling image and sound effects.

“Lighting” adds drama to your live performance
The color of the entrancer’s touch pad changes dramatically depending on the position of your finger and the type of effect selected. These lighting effects will energize your performance space, adding a new dimension of drama to the action.

The super-charged KP2 KAOSS Pad evolved from the uniquely original KP1 and is packed with ground-breaking effects, new sampling functions and a host of cool, user-inspired features.

The touch of your finger
The concept of the KAOSS Pad is brilliantly simple – as you move your finger around the pad you are controlling many sophisticated aspects of a powerful effects processor. Move your finger left to right and you control certain aspects of the sound. Move it up and down and you control other parameters. Make an arc and you bring in even more changes. All you need to do is glide across or tap on the pad to make evocative changes to your mix, producing a level of complexity that would be impossible to achieve with any other system or controller.

100 killer effect programs
The KP2 is packed with essential effects like filters, delays, reverb, and flanging, along with cutting-edge DJ effects like isolator, slicer, and auto-panning. Select effect programs by turning a knob and assign up to eight in the program memory buttons for instant recall. A Hold switch lets you freeze an effect in its current position, making it easy to capture a perfect setting or to rhythmically change the sound by drumming on the pad.

More groove with synths and vocoders
Not only does the KP2 come with amazing effects, it also is loaded with 15 super-cool synth sounds including analog synth programs and ethereal ambiance-type sounds. Use the pad to play and manipulate the sounds for some truly unique creations. We’ve even included five vocoder programs that are great for MC or vocal processing.

You’re in sync with special BPM effects
Sync delay time or the LFO of modulation effects such as pan, phaser or flanger to the beat with the KP2’s 20 specially programmed BPM effects. You can use the Auto BPM function to detect the speed of an input source, adjust the BPM manually, tap in the tempo yourself, or even sync the KP2 to incoming MIDI Clock messages. Eight new BPM patterns can be triggered from the touch pad, allowing rhythm and bass synth patterns to be played, perfectly synchronized to the BPM.

Sampling with effects
Plug into the KP2’s audio input and sample up to six seconds of sound at 44.1 kHz. The KP2 has two sample keys that you can use to trigger those samples. Run the samples through the KP2’s effects. Or you can process a sound through the effects and then sample it. Use the touch pad to apply time-stretch, reverse-playback, pitch shift, or scratch effects to the samples for unlimited creative possibilities.

Record your pad movements and transform them
The KP2 remembers your exact movements. Simply record your moves with the Pad Motion function, and you can play back complex pad movements and instantly reproduce your original effect sounds. The Mute function can be used to cut the input sound, leaving only the reverb or delay “tail,” or you can switch muting rapidly on/off in time with the rhythm (a DJ technique commonly called “transform”).

Easy operation and quick connection of DJ sources and instruments
The KP2 is ready to be used with a variety of sound sources. PHONO IN and LINE IN connectors allow turntables, CD players and musical instruments to be connected easily. A Mic input is perfect for processing vocals or for use as a wild MC toolbox. MIDI IN and OUT connectors allow a computer-based sequencer etc. to record and playback subtle movements of the KP2's pad for flexible production and remixing possibilities. The MIDI OUT connector also lets you use the KP2 to control other synthesizers and MIDI gear opening up a new world of expressive performance gestures.

Add the dimensions of light and style
With its own light show, the KP2 generates an intrinsic sense of groove. The colors on its touch pad change according to the type of effect you’re using and the position of your finger on the pad. The new KAOSS Pad is also built to travel with a heavy-duty, die cast aluminum chassis and a bold, slim-line design.
