Two channels: Classic and Modern.
“More is better” is true for many customers, esp. when
it comes to comparing two combos with the same street price.
Here’s what the two channels offer.
Vintage: with independent
controls for Volume & Gain, this offers the grit and girth
worthy of the company known by many as “the Sound of Rock.”
Modern: for modern(ish)
styles like slap, crispness and clarity is a must and this is
perfect channel to use when crystal clean notes are the order of
the day. Plus...
Selectable, Variable Compressor on the
Modern Channel.
In the bass world compression is a big deal when a smooth
consistent low-end pulse is required and the MB15 offers it. In
addition to having its own level control, the built-in
compression also boasts an LED indicator which glows
green when the Compressor is switched on and then
changes to red whenever the compression
threshold is reached and the effect kicks in.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Other bass
amps may have limiting but limiting and compression are not the
same thing!! The vast majority of bass amps house a limiter and
its sole purpose is to prevent the output stage from clipping
(not a desirable distortion!) when the amp is cranked.
Emulated Line Out
With all the home recording being done today on digital
recorders and computers, this is a feature that shouldn’t be
ignored. It’s way more useful than an External Speaker jack on a
15-watt combo.
Summary
The MB15 is a compact, rugged brute that’s competitively priced
and houses a feature set that's sure to impress.
